To make matters more strange – some things like the CUPS test page print perfectly. Install the resulting two slackware packages using installpkg. Share Facebook Twitter Reddit. Or you can now add the printer to cups, and it will work. I’ve had a HL for almost two years now and it’s been a really reliable printer the whole time.

Your issue is probably due to the Brother using Postscript emulation rather than true Adobe Postscript. Any suggestions, alternate drivers, or ideas for work-arounds?
User profile for user: Installed on 72 days ago InstallationMedia: I have found these to be excellent printers, the cartridges are quite easy to refill, and the they just plain work.
It doesn’t do PostScript from the Mac. I’ve just never found a need to print from my iPad.
Why the Brother HL-2270DW Laser Printer Sucks Less
But setting it up took a lot of perservering. I expect that is really a paper quality issue. I thought I was happy with the HP Deskjet A, until a fresh black pstscript expired after a month and about 30 prints.
How do you do that? Hope brother fixes this in the next driver update Sorry for any confusion. The way I’ve been getting around it is to do a screen shot, open in preview, then print.
No upgrade log present postsfript fresh install dmi. Print tons of documents every week and no trouble with it.
Bug # “Incorrect margins when printing to a laser printer” : Bugs : cups package : Ubuntu
Just encountered the same issue trying to print to a Brother printer via Parallels. I switched to BnW Laser about 10 years ago for exactly the same reasons and I’m still using the same dumb HP to print a couple of sheets a week. Came across this while trying to fix a Mac OS For printing out volume classwork we had good luck using inexpensive indestructible Samsung laser printers for many years, but today the Brother HLDW is the current winner in price and utility.
I have been struggling with this problem for days and the HLDW. It curls duplex printouts even on quality paper quite noticeably.
Prints without incident, wirelessly, from Mac, iPad, iPhone. I gave it to a friend who prints about 10 pages a year. I’m sure USB and wifi work just fine, but I didn’t have a reason to try them so I can’t give instructions for that.
All replies Drop Down menu. The above quote was actually taken from an Onion parody article written shortly after the resignation of Steve Jobs. I have an JLD that I purchased a couple of months ago. The shell of the retina is very thin – about 0. I have also found Brothers website to be exceedingly useful and their tech support on the one occasion I needed them to be outstanding. Initially I had them running on Ethernet but in a cable reduction scheme I gave Wi-Fi a go and they work excellently.
I don’t know why anyone who has an iPad would choose a non-airprint printer. Following directions in Debugging Printing Problems, I’ve enabled “Save debugging information for troubleshooting” and I’ve captured a print job. Reply Helpful Thread reply – more options Link to this Post.
The retina is very complex and in their structure and function.
